Deepika Padukone gave one of her most candid interviews to Hindustan Times recently. She spoke about not taking her success for granted as she has got to this position after a lot of hard work and dedication. Deepika also stated that competition has never bothered her. The interviewer then asked her about the influence Ranveer Singh has had on her in the past 2-3 years, here’s her reply –
Yes, he has been a huge influence. We have very different personalities for the outside world, but deep down inside, he is very different, mature and extremely intelligent. I think sometimes people don’t see or get his intelligence because he is like a joker and a bubble, who is jumping from one place to another. He is very sensitive, emotional and most importantly, very grounded.

On whether she has ever asked him to tone down –

No, I don’t need to because I know he isn’t like that all the time. With me, he is a different person.

And she also addressed rumours surrounding their supposed marriage plans –

Not at the moment (smiles). People seem to know more about my life than even I do (smiles).

Deepika then spoke about the very heartwarming reaction after she saw Bajirao Mastani for the first time –

Somewhere, as an actor, you are aware of the scale of the film, and you are aware of what the possibilities are, but until those possibilities become a reality, you are never prepared. I remember the day I saw the film, I came out of the theatre and for almost two hours, I couldn’t stop crying. I think I was so overwhelmed by our journey, and by the film itself, and what we all had gone through, that I couldn’t believe that it all had come together in this manner. I got up, and gave Ranveer a big hug, who was sitting next to me, and cried on his shoulder for 10 minutes. Then I saw Sanjay sir (Leela Bhansali; director) and cried again, and I think he also started crying. It has been very overwhelming.

Take him to Hollywood with you yaar!

Ranbir Kapoor Opens Up About Deepika Padukone’s Depression

A couple of days ago, I told you guys how Deepika Padukone empathized with Ranbir Kapoor post the failure of the latter’s last release, Bombay Velvet. Though RK Jr. didn’t make to it DP’s recently held Piku success bash, the actress didn’t mind as she knew that he was going through a difficult phase. However, it seems Ranbir was completely unaware of her battle with depression until she came out in the open and spoke about it. He told DNA:
I didn’t know about Deepika’s depression at all. I have no idea. It depends from person to person. When an actor talks about something, you have to understand, they’re sometimes role models, they can inspire people. When an actor talks about something, it always has to come from the intention of wanting to improve somebody else’s life or mental health or problem or disability. Like Hrithik Roshan spoke so vehemently about his stammering problem. It is not about speaking about it but also giving them the solution to it. I think that’s what’s important. When you speak about a problem and just talk about it, that’s sympathy. When you give them a solution, you’re doing something for society and helping them. In that sense, yes, it’s important. How do you overcome your disability, your fears? If you can inspire people with that, I think that’s brilliant.
Well said, Ranbir! During the same interview, he also spoke about his girlfriend Katrina Kaif like never before. Here’s what he said.
