The ‘Super Weird’ But Stylish Way Ileana D’Cruz Paired Her Crop Top & Bomber

Ileana D’Cruz is having one hell of a month! With appearances after appearances for her new movie Rustom, Ileana’s wardrobe has not only been on point but it’s bold as hell. Take for example the outfit she had on this morning… In a crop top that reads ‘Super Weird’ (hence the title, geddit geddit?) with a varsity bomber jacket, she had the most un expected fashion-pairing. Yup, culottes. The most rare thing to be spotted with a crop top and bomber – but somehow she just makes it work so well!
And while we really want to try out that combination, we also have our sights on her weekend ootn! Looking sexy as hell in a Monisha Jaising, low cleavage-bearing dress, Ileana is definitely making our head do a 180!
Which look is your favourite?

Alia Bhatt Talks About Slut-Shaming In Bollywood And Sidharth Malhotra

Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt gave an interesting interview to Huffington Post India where she spoke at length about her career defining role in Udta Punjab, the need to be ‘perfect’ all the time and her personal life. One thing she said about talking about her relationship in public particularly resonates with most Indian women who have an active dating life. Here are a few excerpts from the interview –
You know, there’s a general tendency in India to constantly ape the West. Which is good and bad. Whether it is films, fashion, pop-culture, it’s perhaps not too wrong to assume that it descends from there and subsequently becomes a thing here. But what our stars have never managed to handle well is relationships, which Hollywood is pretty open about. Why the conservatism when it comes to talking openly about love?
Because ours is a very real price to pay. In India, you are a part of a society that’s very judgmental. Here, girls having multiple boyfriends is still a huge-ass deal and something that is frowned upon. I mean, look at Taylor Swift. She’s dated, like, everybody. But if she was here, she’d be totally shamed for making those choices. Her image and appeal would be very different. The reason actresses don’t talk about their private lives is because in our society there is a lot of slut-shaming. Eventually, I have a responsibility and I have to protect myself.
It’s important that I am seen in a certain way, it’s just the way it is. Speculations about celebrities are commonplace but as long as it’s not coming from the horse’s mouth, you’re quite safe, so to speak.
What’s the worst that you imagine will happen if you were to confess to that you’re seeing Sidharth Malhotra and are probably in love with him?
Okay, suppose I say that but is it necessary that it stays that way? What if tomorrow I am not in love with him and feel differently about it? Then what? It’s not written in stone, is it? And I don’t want to be in a position where they come after me because I broke up with a dude. “Oh, aapka break-up ho gaya, ab agla kaun? Who’s next?” This shallow and stupid thinking is just the reality of our society which doesn’t allow women to be the way they’d like to be — free and independent.

Deepika Padukone Opens Up About Marriage Rumours & Ranveer Singh’s Influence On Her

Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone
Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone gave one of her most candid interviews to Hindustan Times recently. She spoke about not taking her success for granted as she has got to this position after a lot of hard work and dedication. Deepika also stated that competition has never bothered her. The interviewer then asked her about the influence Ranveer Singh has had on her in the past 2-3 years, here’s her reply –
Yes, he has been a huge influence. We have very different personalities for the outside world, but deep down inside, he is very different, mature and extremely intelligent. I think sometimes people don’t see or get his intelligence because he is like a joker and a bubble, who is jumping from one place to another. He is very sensitive, emotional and most importantly, very grounded.

On whether she has ever asked him to tone down –

No, I don’t need to because I know he isn’t like that all the time. With me, he is a different person.

And she also addressed rumours surrounding their supposed marriage plans –

Not at the moment (smiles). People seem to know more about my life than even I do (smiles).

Deepika then spoke about the very heartwarming reaction after she saw Bajirao Mastani for the first time –

Somewhere, as an actor, you are aware of the scale of the film, and you are aware of what the possibilities are, but until those possibilities become a reality, you are never prepared. I remember the day I saw the film, I came out of the theatre and for almost two hours, I couldn’t stop crying. I think I was so overwhelmed by our journey, and by the film itself, and what we all had gone through, that I couldn’t believe that it all had come together in this manner. I got up, and gave Ranveer a big hug, who was sitting next to me, and cried on his shoulder for 10 minutes. Then I saw Sanjay sir (Leela Bhansali; director) and cried again, and I think he also started crying. It has been very overwhelming.
Check out the entire interview here.
Take him to Hollywood with you yaar!

Ranbir Kapoor Opens Up About Deepika Padukone’s Depression

Ranbir and Deepika
Ranbir and Deepika
A couple of days ago, I told you guys how Deepika Padukone empathized with Ranbir Kapoor post the failure of the latter’s last release, Bombay Velvet. Though RK Jr. didn’t make to it DP’s recently held Piku success bash, the actress didn’t mind as she knew that he was going through a difficult phase. However, it seems Ranbir was completely unaware of her battle with depression until she came out in the open and spoke about it. He told DNA:
I didn’t know about Deepika’s depression at all. I have no idea. It depends from person to person. When an actor talks about something, you have to understand, they’re sometimes role models, they can inspire people. When an actor talks about something, it always has to come from the intention of wanting to improve somebody else’s life or mental health or problem or disability. Like Hrithik Roshan spoke so vehemently about his stammering problem. It is not about speaking about it but also giving them the solution to it. I think that’s what’s important. When you speak about a problem and just talk about it, that’s sympathy. When you give them a solution, you’re doing something for society and helping them. In that sense, yes, it’s important. How do you overcome your disability, your fears? If you can inspire people with that, I think that’s brilliant.
Well said, Ranbir! During the same interview, he also spoke about his girlfriend Katrina Kaif like never before. Here’s what he said.

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor‘s chemistry in their last film together, Tamasha, is out there for the world to see. It’s truly infectious and the screen just lights up when the two of them share it. Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor agrees and post the release of the film, she’d gone on record to say that their chemistry was electrifying.

In a recent interview with DNA, Deepika was asked about this.

She said:

I blanked out completely during that time. I remember her coming for one of the trials but I don’t think it was mine. She had her own separate trial. Obviously, she would come for that trial. I am working with her son in the movie and she’s been very hands on where his work is concerned. She’s been a huge fan of Imtiaz’s work. As far as the electrifying chemistry is concerned, I think as an audience she (Neetu) has every right to feel that. I agree Ranbir and I did share that electrifying chemistry in Tamasha and everyone who has seen the film felt that, including the reviewers. So when everyone feels that, she’s justified in feeling that.

After being together for almost a decade, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham had parted ways on a bitter note, a few years ago. While the latter tied the knot with Priya Runchal soon after the break-up, the former had a couple of short-lived relationships. And then, Bips finally found love in her Alone co-star Karan Singh Grover and as we all know, the two recently took the wedding vows.
When the leading tabloid Mumbai Mirror asked her ex John about their recently held nuptial, he said, “I wish her all the best.”  Now that both of them are happily married to their respective partners, I guess they have finally let go of the bitterness between them. All’s well that ends well.

10 Amazing Things That Happened At Vijender Singh’s Last Fight – As Told By RJ Malishka!

Indian boxing star Vijender Singh is now the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight Champion and we couldn’t be more proud. He won against Kerry Hope on Saturday. RJ Malishka was at the stadium doing some kickass commentary and told us all about the experience. Malishka aka Mumbai Ki Rani is definitely taking over the world – one cool thing at a time.

What was it?

This is pro-boxing’s debut in India. The big thing was that it’s a title match. Whoever won it had a huge chance to go ahead and do great things. Basically Vijju will now make it to the top 15 of the WBO ranking. This means big things for him!

Why it was important…

What’s also happened because of this is… Haryana’s Bhiwani, which is known as Mini Cuba, because there are 500 boxers there alone. Vijju is one of their shining stars obviously. This is a big deal for the sport at large because so many of the new boxers now will get a chance.

Mary Kom was so excited. Two girls from her academy also fought – one was 16, one was 22. It was a really great night. There were lots of stars in attendance.

Yuvi’s future plans…

I was sitting next to Yuvraj Singh. I turned around and asked him how he’s enjoying the match. He told me “This is very good. Pehle maine nahin dekha hai, but ab jab maine dekha hai, mujhe lagta hai ki…” I thought he was going to say he will now watch more of it, but he said “Mujhe lagta hai ki main bhi ring mein utar jaun.”

Kiss kiss…

Kerry was getting beaten up like mad. I kissed him in the end!

Host swag on…

I was hosting the pre-match bout with Charu and Mary Kom, and then with Randeep Hooda and Suresh Raina. I loved the experience. I am so grateful that Star Sports took the leap of faith with me and gave me this super fun opportunity. They said ‘She can talk, she can handle live TV, she can interview people’! And it’s not very technical. It was supposed to be the fun side of boxing.

Vijju vs Kerry…

The thing is that Vijender hasn’t fought a bout that has lasted more than 6 rounds. This was his first 10 round bout. Kerry has fought these kinds of matches before in his 12-year-old career. Out of 30 matches, he’s won 23. When you know this information, you think why would Vijju have the balls to take him on? But then you realise, he’s younger, he’s practised more, he is on fire…

The earpiece…

You know what happens there? There’s an earpiece in my ear constantly! Because it’s live – they’ve to cut through stuff, they’ve to put stuff on television – so they’re constantly feeding you. Constant chatter in your ear! Ten things are happening, plus you’ve to pay attention what’s been said to you, plus keep track of the earpiece, plus maintain conversation… it’s crazy! Sometimes they’re giving you instructions like ’40 seconds more, Malishka’ when you’re about to wrap. So you’ve to just figure it out! It’s a whole different level of live!

Cheap thrills…

My zone is to have fun. By the team I spoke to Randeep and Suresh Raina, I was completely in form. It was my game! The other thing about live is ‘Kuch bhi ho sakta hai’ – that’s the thrilling part of it.

Underdog Vijju…

Vijender was the underdog. When the match started, people didn’t think this will last till 10 bouts. It’s tough for both people and Vijender is famous for his knockouts. All in all, Vijender is an ameteur boxer. He had to change his style for this one!

Aww…

I spoke to Vijender two days before the match. He was full ‘Usko pata hai na, main itna maartaa hoon!’ When I asked him his signature move he went all ‘Main bata dunga toh woh samajh jaega, Malishka!’ Then on the phone when I told him I am gonna be there to host (I do know him from before), he was so excited – it was amazing!

Whatte fun!
